Chip grew up in Dallas, Texas, and became interested in photography while in high school.  He received a bachelor’s degree in photography from East Texas State University and moved back to Dallas to begin his professional career.  He spent several years working as an assistant to some of the best photographers in town, where he learned new techniques and sharpened his own skills as a photographer. In 1993, he began working as a photographer for a large printing company, and has enjoyed shooting product for a variety of advertising needs ever since.

When not working, Chip enjoys hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also enjoys cooking and reading.  After doing photography work for a friend whose daughter attends the Texas Ballet Theater School, Chip found he also enjoyed capturing movement on film. He continues to work with dancers to try and capture the grace with which they dance.

Chip has been influenced by many people throughout his career. He would like to thank the following people and dedicate this sight to them:

* Mrs. Elisabeth (Liz) Mitchell Woodward, his grandmother; “She was one of the most creative people I know.”

* Mr. Walter (Wally) Linebarger, his high school photography teacher; “He is the one who saw the potential I had, and pointed me in the right direction.”

 * Mr. and Mrs. Charles (Chuck and Betty) Hagen Sr., his parents; for all their love and support.
